Offering to society has always been and remains one of our objectives. We take our social responsibility very seriously and our activities include a significant portion of pro bono work and financial or other support to initiatives related or even unrelated to the law.
We actively support our society through various donations that focus mainly on women and children in need.
The voluntary non-profit organization of mother and child protection “Ark of the World (Kivotos tou Kosmou)”, “ELEPAP”, the first charitable, non-profit association in Greece to provide rehabilitation services to children since 1937, the organization “Hamogelo tou Paidiou”, which acts in order to prevent and address specific threats to children, the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer “Alma Zois”, the non – profit organization “SOS Children’s Villages Greece”, the “National Kindergarten (Protipo Ethniko Nipiotrofio)” and the Chatzikiriakeio Foundation of Child Protection, are some of the Associations that our firm supports.
Moreover, we support “Make-A-Wish Greece”, the “THEOTOKOS” Foundation, which offers prevention, holistic intervention and rehabilitation services to people with Intellectual Developmental Disorders & Autistic Spectrum Disorders, the vocational training center “Margarita”, the “ELPIDA Association of Friends of Children with cancer”, “Amimoni”, the only Panhellenic organization that provides education, care and treatments to children and adults with visual impairments and additional disabilities, “Ena Paidi – Enas Kosmos” an organisation for the child and the family that aims at the well-being of each child and the safeguarding of their rights and “Diotima-centre”, a non-profit organisation which provides a series of services aimed at supporting and empowering women. More specifically, our firm is contributing to the organisation’s program of legal aid for low-income women survivors of gender-based violence, who don’t have access to information and legal support.
Our firm has also made donations to the children of mothers, who are being treated and are participating in the Special Program of Psychological Detoxification for mothers by the Detoxification Unit 18 ano – Psychiatric Hospital of Attica, to the Child Care Service “Anarrotirio Pentelis”, to the Red Cross Greece and to the “To Ergastiri-Lilian Voudouri”.
We actively contribute to our community by hosting biannual blood donation drives, helping to provide vital support to those in need, and we additionally support “Choose Life” a non-profit association that stands on the side of patients and their families while they navigate the challenges of leukemia and other blood-related illnesses.
During the Covid-19 emergency, we made a significant donation of equipment to the Greek Healthcare System, in order to cover the immediate needs of Covid-19 designated hospital, General Hospital “Sotiria”.
Furthermore, at Karatzas & Partners we believe in the new generation of lawyers and strongly support their initiatives and activities. In this context, our firm supports Greek law students in participating in various national and international Moot Court competitions and other initiatives, either independently or through non-profit organizations.
Pro Bono and community investment work has been part of Karatzas & Partners since the firm’s establishment, back in 1963.
We have been and will continue to offer pro bono legal services to non-profit organizations, as we recognize this as a crucial part of our social responsibility.
We acknowledge that being environmentally conscious is critical for ourselves and for our planet.
We care about our firm’s environmental footprint and, with that in mind, we strive to increase recycling and reduce paper use by applying methods like “follow me” printing, by recycling cartridges and old hardware, by using reusable office supplies and more.
Additionally, we encourage our people to adopt environmentally aware thinking in their everyday practice, by promoting eco-friendly activities and initiatives.
