Karatzas & Partners has advised investment fund SMERemediumCap II (SMERC II) on the acquisition of a majority stake in BIOHYGEIA S.A., a leading company in the organic products sector in Greece, operating under its flagship brand “Ola Bio” and representing top international brands including Yogi Tea, Rapunzel, Koko, Holle and Ecomil.

This transaction marks SMERC II’s first investment following its successful fundraising of €200 million in December 2025, with the aim of building a strong platform in the organic products space through organic growth and strategic M&A.
