Our firm advised the International Managers (Bank of America Securities Europe SA, acting as Lead Global Coordinator, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE and UBS Europe SE, acting as Joint Global Coordinators; Barclays Bank Ireland PLC, BNP Paribas, HSBC Continental Europe, J.P. Morgan SE, and Morgan Stanley Europe SE, acting as Joint Bookrunners, AXIA Ventures Group Ltd and Euroxx Securities SA, acting as Co-Lead Managers) and the Greek Underwriters (Euroxx Securities SA, acting as Greek Public Offering Advisor, Greek Public Offering Coordinator and Lead Underwriter, and Piraeus Bank S.A., acting as Greek Public Offering Coordinator and Lead Underwriter) in the disposal of the 27% stake in Piraeus Financial Holdings S.A. by the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, valued at approximately €1.35 billion; an unprecedented, landmark transaction in Europe.
The transaction was significantly oversubscribed (approximately 9x and 4x for the International and Greek books, respectively) and was completed through (i) a concurrent FMO and a public offering to retail and institutional investors in Greece and (ii) a private placement to professional investors outside Greece.
Our core team comprised Partners Catherine Karatzas and Alexandra Kondyli, Senior Counsel Eleana Rouga, Senior Associate Maria Chronaki and Associates Iliana Ioannou and Dimitris Passas.
Sincere thanks to all syndicate teams for their trust and to all business and legal teams for the excellent cooperation.
