Our firm acts as Greek legal counsel to J.P. Morgan in connection with its strategic investment in Viva Wallet

Our firm acts as Greek legal counsel to J.P. Morgan (JPM) in connection with its strategic investment in Viva Wallet, the leading Greek fintech company with offices in 23 European countries.

JPM entered into an agreement with Viva and Viva’s existing shareholders to acquire an ownership stake of approximately 49%, subject to regulatory approvals. This milestone transaction sets the stage for JPM’s payments business to develop future international products and services across European small and midsize businesses. It also signifies confidence in the potential of the Greek fintech industry and is expected to support the growth of Viva through payments innovation.

Viva is the first entirely cloud-based Neobank in Europe, holding a banking and an electronic money institution license in Greece, which is focused on the provision of merchant acquiring services to businesses of all sizes.

Our team is led by our Partner Catherine Karatzas, assisted by our Senior Counsel Nikos Askotiris, our Associates Olga Vinieri, Stavroula Simitzi, Aris – Nikolaos Papadopoulos, Regina Keramida and our Trainees Mariana Gravani and Katerina Stathakarou. In addition, our Partner Georgios Minoudis advises on the tax aspects of the transaction.

Our team also includes Senior Counsel Aggeliki Tsatsi, assisted by Trainee Pinelopi Anyfanti, for employment law issues; our Senior Associate Vassilis Goulielmos, for corporate governance issues; our Senior Associate Sonia Saranti and our Associate Georgia Perivolioti for finance issues; our Senior Associate Alexandros Anagnostopoulos and our Associate Mara Skiada, for real estate issues; and our Associate Angela Boletsi, for GDPR issues.
